![]() ![]() You think maybe it was just the multiplayer that hooked most people? And the multiplayer was just so damn satisfying (but like I mentioned, I never really did Perfect Dark multiplayer, and Perfect Dark Zero was a waste of time when you had Call of Duty 2). I never felt like I was simply going through the motions in the missions and gladly played them over and over. The gadgets felt right because it was Bond, after all. Now compared to GoldenEye, Goldeneye had the benefit of great characters. Like I said, I'm not bashing it - I just don't understand what there was about this game that so many went ga ga over. I tried it a couple of times, shelved it, tried it again after a couple of months, shelved it again. My roommates I used to play Goldeneye with were gone so I can't say what that was like, but Perfect Zero never held my interest long enough for me to really get into the multiplayer. I never played multiplayer on the first Perfect Dark. I had Call of Duty 2 and King Kong when I bought my launch 360 and those games at least looked a bit better than the Xbox games I played before - but I was expecting "Wow!" from Perfect Dark and I got "Meh." And I remember there was something about the save that ticked me off in the first one - but I can't remember now exactly what it was.Īnd back to Perfect Dark Zero - It was a next gen game that looked like ass, in my opinion. No matter what vegetation or whatever was between you and the speck of a guy in the distance, he would still see you instantly and be able to hit you. In Perfect Dark Zero I also hated that there was no type of cover. All and all it just felt generic, and not in a good way. I was never crazy about the art direction. The weapons (and bear in mind, it's been a long time) seemed to lack any type of "punch" to them. I found them bland in both games and the story non-existent. It's been awhile but I didn't like the characters. I don't know what PDZ you played but the one i owned was the first FPS i played that incorporated a TPS cover mechanic in the game.I do agree though that the game was no way as good as Call of duty 2.ĪNyway it's 2.45 in the UK, so goodnight all. No matter what vegetation or whatever was between you and the speck of a guy in the distance, he would still see you instantly and be able to hit you." "In Perfect Dark Zero I also hated that there was no type of cover. So now tell us, what is it you liked in Golden eye that perfect Dark lacked or failed at to make you dislike Darkreider:Art direction and character designs to me were similar to Goldeneye as for the weapons well that's a fair point but don't agree with you concerning the story because all FPS on consoles then had crappy story lines. You should not ask us that question but rather it should be you that should answer what it is about Perfect dark that you did not like on the N64?And why i say you should answer that question is because you claim to actually like Golden Eye, a game that is sooo similar to Perfect dark in gameplay mechanics, level design the works that most consumers felt that perfect Dark was an upgrade to Golden Eye.
